District Commitments

As the Direct ArchdiocesanDistrict Philoptochos, we strive always in meeting punctually our obligations. To assist in this aim, find below the DISTRICT COMMITMENT BOOKLET which should be given to your chapter treasurer as soon as possible. I kindly request that you CONSIDER GIVING 10% more this year than you did last year!

1. DIRECT ARCHDIOCESAN DISTRICT PHILOPTOCHOS MEMBERSHIP DUES
   Chapters send $8 per member to support philanthropic initiatives.
   
   
2. THE HELLENIC CULTURAL CENTER, in Astoria, NY, promotes and cultivates our Tradition and Heritage. It also provides a venue
   for the promotion of our cultural, ethnic and religious identity.
   
   
3. HOLY CROSS/HELLENIC COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
   Awarded to the fulltime student in the Master of Divinity program at Holy Cross School of Theology or a Hellenic College student with Seminarian Status.
   
   
4. SAINT MICHAEL’S HOME
   St. Michael's Home has provided spiritual, emotional and physical comfort and care in a loving Greek Orthodox environment since 1958 where elderly residents are treated as “family members”. The Home is committed to expanding both the size of the facility and the level of care which it is licensed to offer.
   
   
5. THE SAINT NICHOLAS NATIONAL SHRINE AT THE WORLD TRADE CENTER
   St. Nicholas will continue to function as a parish of the Archdiocese and will be our monument to Orthodoxy. It will be a place of pilgrimage for our Nation and the whole world. It will shine as a spiritual beacon of hope and rebirth that will inspire millions for generations to come. We should all do our part.
